Dr. E. David CrawfordDr. Crawford is a world recognized expert in prostate cancer here in Colorado. He has conducted research in the treatment of pre and post-metastatic adeno-carcinoma of the prostate, hormone-refractory prostate cancer, bladder cancer, and other areas of urological infections and malignancies.
He has authored or coauthored over 400 articles, which have been published in such journals as Urology, The New England Journal of Medicine, and the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. He is also an editorial reviewer or consultant for a large number of publications, including Urology, Journal of Urology, The New England Journal of Medicine, Cancer, and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. He is one of the co-founders of Prostate Cancer Awareness Week (PCAW), which provides free or low cost prostate cancer screenings for men across the US every September. |

Dr. M. Scott LuciaDr. Lucia is Associate Professor and Chief of Genitourinary and Renal Pathology at the University of Colorado Denver and Health Sciences Center where he also serves as the Director of the Prostate Diagnostic Laboratory and Co-Director of the Prostate Cancer Research Laboratories. Dr. Lucia received his M.D. from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1988. He completed his internship and residency in pathology at the University of Colorado in 1993. He was a research fellow in the Laboratory of Chemoprevention at the National Institutes of Health from 1993-1995 before returning to Colorado in 1995.
Dr. Lucia served as the primary pathologist for the Prostate Cancer Prevention Trial (PCPT) and the Medical Therapy of Prostate Symptoms (MTOPS) trial. He currently is the primary pathologist for the Vitamin E and Selenium Chemoprevention Trial (SELECT). Dr. Lucia directs the operation of several tissue and serum biorepositories for prostate and prostatic diseases accounting for one of the largest collections of prostate research samples in the world. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. His research is focused on pathology of prostate cancer and hyperplasia, early detection and prevention of prostate cancer, and mechanisms of carcinogenesis. |

Dr. L. Michael GlodeDr. Glode is Chief Medical Oncologist for University of Colorado Cancer Center’s Urologic Oncology Division. He has a long standing interest in GU Oncology, specialized in Prostate Cancer. He was Principal Investigator (PI) on the study leading to approval of leuprolide, which is the top hormone therapy used to fight prostate cancer. He is currently PI on the only national NCI sponsored adjuvant treatment protocol for high risk prostate cancer patients following surgery. His laboratory examinations include studies for development of new prostate and bladder cancer fighting agents. |
